There is more gold in unexpected places.
I got this on my feed pretty Rad it turns out Massachusetts may have large pockets of gold. New map shows Massachusetts as highly rated for significant gold reserves. So does that mean I should get my prospector gear now and running around in the woods trying to find Gold with a metal detector. Unlikely but it does make things interesting.
With California, Nevada, usually leading the way never thought of the east coast being potentially an area for Gold. Worldwide mine production in 2024 came in at nearly 3,300 tons. China, Russia, Australia, Canada, and the United States were the top five producers in descending order.
The U.S. resource base is far larger than current annual output. Identified resources plus estimates of undiscovered resources together suggest multi decade potential, though timing depends on economics, and resources.

Still pretty funny how this has worked out on the home front, about 90 tons of new and old scrap were recycled in 2024, equal to roughly 45 percent of reported U.S. consumption. The domestic recycling supply slipped about 6 percent compared with 2023. Not going to be buying prospector gear anytime soon just thought this was Rad.
